Volunteers Building Strong, Healthy and Prepared Communities

Join the MRC – There's a Place for Everyone!

The Sullivan County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) invites all community members to participate, whether you're a practicing or retired healthcare professional or come from a non-medical background. Your unique skills and expertise can help strengthen our community’s preparedness and response to disasters.

About the Sullivan County MRC

The Sullivan County MRC, part of the Sullivan County Regional Health Department, currently has over 200 volunteers from various backgrounds. These volunteers are ready to assist in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.

Training and Volunteer Roles

Volunteers receive just-in-time training to support a wide range of roles, including:

  • Triage
  • Registration
  • Patient education
  • Medical evaluation
  • Vaccinations
  • Medication distribution

In addition to disaster response, volunteers may participate in non-emergency activities such as health fairs, trainings, health assessments, or county emergency preparedness exercises held throughout the year.

How Volunteers Are Activated

In the event of a public health emergency or natural disaster, volunteers will be notified via Tennessee Volunteer Mobilizer. Using the contact information provided during registration, volunteers will receive details about the incident and where to report for assignments.

Everyone has something to contribute—join us in helping our community!
