STDs

Our Mission

The Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Department is dedicated to the prevention, surveillance, and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, including chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, and HIV, in Sullivan County.

Our mission is to reduce the incidence of STDs through comprehensive services that promote sexual health and well-being.

Testing and Treatment

We offer free testing and treatment for certain infections to ensure that everyone has access to the care they need. Specimens are processed at the Tennessee Department of Health State Laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely results. Rest assured, our services are confidential, respecting your privacy and providing a safe environment for everyone seeking help.

Receive Free Condoms

Did you know our health department provides free condoms and personal lubricant in a discreet package? Drop by either of our offices during business hours and ask the front desk clerk for a “brown bag.” You will receive a small brown paper bag containing:

  • 10 latex external or male condoms (latex-free available upon request)
  • 5 packets of personal lubricant
  • 1 How to Use an External Condom information sheet

Additional safer sex supplies, including internal/female condoms and dental dams, are available from our STD clinic while supplies last. These resources are part of our commitment to promoting safe sex practices and preventing the spread of STDs.

Our aim is to deliver comprehensive sexual health services to the community, making sure everyone can access the necessary resources and support to maintain their well-being. Visit us for testing, treatment, and education on safeguarding yourself and your partners from STDs.
