EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

The Sullivan County Regional Health Department prepares for public health emergencies that may affect our community.  The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Department uses an all-hazards approach for emergency planning, focusing on situations that specifically affect the health of the public including pandemic flu, vector-borne diseases, bioterrorism events, and other disease outbreaks.

The department works closely with healthcare agencies in the region through the Northeast Tennessee Healthcare Preparedness Coalition.  This group focuses on preparing the healthcare community for response to disasters. Visit: http:/nethealthcoalition.org/

SCRHD maintains a Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) unit of volunteers that are able to respond to a public health disaster.  If you would like more information on how to join the Medical Reserve Corps, contact the MRC Coordinator by calling (423)279-2777 or click the volunteer here tab on this page.
